News : BLOG: welcome to the wonderful world of Android

I've been a blackberry supporter for a long time. Over the last year my loyalty has constantly been tested
by a new breed of phones sporting the android platform. I really had not paid android much attention since the original Google phone
hit stores over 2 years ago. Over the past month I've had the opportunity submerse myself in the world of android.
Not with one phone but three of newest most feature focused releases available on t-mobile. Is it time to retire the blackberry
once and for all? lets dive in. Each will be graded on a 1 to 10 scale. 10 being best.
Android vs Blackberry
If one word could describe Android it would be "fun." Everything about the customization, downloadable apps, and incredibly
rich feature set is limitless. Blackberry is anything by fun. It is utilitarian and most efficient. A great device you
can always count on but "not fun."
G2
The first device i got my hands on was a great transition device. It includes a solid slideout keyboard which i deemed my
training wheels.

The Good: keyboard, speed
The Bad: heavy, sometimes hard to use with one hand
G2x
If you don't need a keyboard this device kills it. It feels like having a full size tablet in your hand
entertainment factor: 9
battery life: 2

web: 10
The Good: huge screen, super fast, HDMI out for big screen viewing
The Bad: battery lasts about 6 hours with normal usage, no physical keyboard
Sidekick 4g
I loved the sidekick 1 and the sidekick 2 but after a while blackberry, iphone and everyone else eventually left them
in the dust. Now its back with a slick custom android OS

The Good: AMAZING keyboard, good battery life, very fast
The Bad: some buttons in bad places, screen is not as big as the G2x
The verdict? I love both the G2x and the Sidekick. The Blackberry may have to go in the phone museum drawer. That is until the 9900
comes later this summer
