Media : WATCH: Dirty Projectors Shoot Off “Gun Has No Trigger” Music Video

A stark and imaginative new video has emerged for Dirty Projectors' new single, “Gun Has No Trigger.” The song and video are from a track off of the band’s upcoming album, Swing Lo Magellan, which is set for a July 10 release date via Domino. The video is lead singer/mastermind David Longstreth's directorial debut.
Here’s what he has to say on his concept(s) behind the video:
GUN HAS NO TRIGGER is about the possibility for true dissent, and how I can't figure out what that could be. What is a 2012 Exodus from the Society of the Spectacle (to mix language Situationist and Rastafari)?
So we made a video from the iconography of the default profile image used by Facebook and Gmail, and also the look of the classic Apple iPod commercials.
The colors in the background are the ones I think of when I hear the harmonies of Amber and Haley (via experimental synesthesia).
Enjoy!!
–DAVID LONGSTRETH

On June 19, Dirty Projectors will perform “Gun Has No Trigger” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, so look out for that.
An exclusive, limited pre-order of Swing Lo Magellan is available over at Domino Records' online store.
