Hurricane Bells, a project by Steve Schiltz of New York-based band Longwave, is putting out a new album entitled Tides and Tales (Invisible Brigades) October 25, 2011 and we're premiering one of the tracks "Possibilities" . Schiltz wrote, recorded and produced everything himself (with a bit of help from musicians for some instrumental elements). For just one week, FILTER is offering this Fall-playlist-worthy track which can be downloaded below.
The track's ethereal tone in a bundle of anthemic lyrics makes for a short and sweet introduction to Schiltz's upcoming release. Keep an eye out of other tracks being premiered in the next few weeks leading up to the release of their sophomore album Tides and Tales (10/25).
Come this September, dream-pop maestro, Toro Y Moi, will be dropping a new EP titled Freaking Out. Below, you can get a FREE MP3 from that EP.
For the price of your email, you can download the tune "All Alone" which appears on the EP. The tune is filled with funky beats and synth blips that try their best to get you bopping in your seat.
Premiere number two! FILTER is proud to premiere Tokyo Police Club's cover of 2009's track, "Strictly Game," by Harlem Shakes as a part of their Covers Project with Polaroid recorded at Red Bull studios in Santa Monica, CA. Download* the track and check out the cover art courtesy of Polariod film below! Graham Wright of the band also gives us 10 reasons to check out the project in our lovely clip after the jump. It's quite convincing.

Johanna & The Dusty Floor (aka Johanna Cranitch) is releasing her debut album, Northern Lights, this May and to celebrate, she was nice enough to not only offer up a new tune to download, but make a video just for FILTER!
"Witch Shoes" is a light and airy pop song filled with haunting vocals and multiple instruments. The Jessie Sara English clip is simple enough with most images only being of Johanna but you get the occasional drawing on her own arm.
Get your download of "Witch Shoes" below and enjoy the video!
Northern Lights arrives May 24th via Red Valise Records.
Chillwave extraordinaire Washed Out (Ernest Greene) is dropping his debut LP, Within and Without, in July. Below, you can get a taste of the synth-pop to come.

As reported a while ago, Fucked Up have recorded and are releasing a rock opera titled David Comes to Life. Today we get a tune from that album and cover art.
"The Other Shoe" is an anathematic tune that features frontman Damian Abraham swapping vocals with a female and it seems to work perfectly. There will also be more singles according to the band's website. "A Slanted Tone" will arrive on April 15th, "Ship of Fools" on April 26th and "One More Night" on May 3rd.
To read Abraham's quick explanation of the 18-song, 78-minute album, Click Here.
With the April release of Tomboy nearing, news of the the last Panda Bear single has been revealed. "Surfers Hymn" will be Noah Lennox's final offering in the lead-up to his highly anticipated LP. The slow-building tune seems to float along somewhere between electronic and drum and bass—not quite the glossy shiner we were expecting, but we'll wait and see what the entire album has to offer.
You can check out a stream of the single over at Stereogum and have a listen of the "Surfers Hymn" B-side, a remix by Actress, below via Soundcloud. The single will be officially released on March 28 via Kompakt.
LA trio Foster The People has gotten the remix treatment courtesy of MNDR.
Electro luminary MNDR turned the breezy indie-pop tune "Pumped Up Kicks" and transformed it into a bass heavy, percussive tune.
Download the remix below for free.
You can pick up Foster The People's self-titled EP which features "Pumped Up Kicks" Right Here.

Featuring members of Casiokids, Low Frequency In Stereo and Stereo 21, Norway’s The Megaphonic Thrift are no strangers to putting on loud rock shows. To celebrate their forthcoming new record, Decay Devoy, FILTER has a new tune to share with everyone!
With a lot of influence of My Bloody Valentine and Dinosaur Jr., "Candy Sin" is a frantic, rocking, and pulse quickening tune that tells you exactly what The Megaphonic Thrift are all about, playing loud rock.
The debut album, Decay Decoy, was born into a world of flames. Literally. Just before the band recorded their debut album, their entire set of equipment was destroyed in a fire including custom guitar pedals, guitars in special tunings and more. But with the help of fellow Norwegian musicians, The Megaphonic Thrift entered the studio and created their infectious new album.
Electro-punk gothers Cold Cave are preparing their sophomore effort, Cherish the Light Years, for its April release. Below, you can get a small taste of that forthcoming album.
In case you didn’t know, lead man Wesley Eisold used to sing for the hardcore-punk band American Nightmare (later changed to Give Up The Ghost). Most of Cold Cave's previous work has not really given any hints of Wes' former punk love but in their new tune, "The Great Pan Is Dead," those influences seem to be creeping in.
You can stream/download "The Great Pan Is Dead" below.
If you head to Cold Cave's Website, you get artwork and handwritten lyrics with your download.
Cherish The Light Years drops April 5th.
You can also catch Cold Cave on the road. Tour dates are below.
Married indie-pop duo, The Submarines, have unveiled another new tune from their forthcoming new album.
"The Sun Shines at Night" is a tune with a storyline of a teenage romance. Singer-keyboardist Blake Hazard says, "I was imagining these two kids who live in the same neighborhood and they're crazy about each other and they're meeting up. I thought of my hometown and I don't know -- there's something about that song that's really dear to me in a way."
You can also download the previously released new tune, "Birds," below.
The tune is from the duo's forthcoming album, Love Notes/Letter Bombs which arrives April 5th.
You can also catch the lovely couple on the road this spring including a stop at SXSW.

The new single off The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is one fuzzy and distorted pop tune.
"Belong" is the title track and new single off the indie-pop group's forthcoming new album on Slumberland. The tune is more distorted and almost "heavier" than anything off their previous album and it sounds like a complete new world for the band. Belong was produced by Flood and mixed by Alan Moulder who both worked on the Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and other 90's era goodness.
Listen to "Belong" below.
The foursome will be out on the road supporting their new album this spring including stops at SXSW. see those dates below.
